With a hard earned reputation for service delivery and a culture driven by a long-serving team and collaborative working environment, the business has grown rapidly to become one of the most well respected service providers in its sector and a genuine employer of choice.

Due to the unprecedented success of the business in recent years and the opportunities presented by the market, a new MANAGING DIRECTOR is now required to take the business to the next level. The role will be challenging - to continue to grow both revenues and margins in a highly competitive sector by leading and developing a talented team and delivering the full potential of the business.

You are currently leading a similar business and seeking the right environment in which to fulfill your potential by building a successful business still further. You have a proven track record at board level, having led businesses through growth, sometimes whilst facing the most severe of challenges in similar sized or larger businesses.

Location: North West

Key tasks:

• Lead the business in delivering the targeted profitable growth as per plan
• Lead, develop and enhance the board of management team to ensure optimum efficiency and maximise the identified market potential
• Take personal ownership of key business initiatives to ensure that the business maintains its competitive advantage
• Bring in new ideas, challenge accepted norms to deliver added value to client relationships and further enhance growth potential
• Drive the business strategy, taking tough decisions where required to ensure that goals are met and shareholder value is maximised

Candidate profile:

• Experienced sector MD/CEO with a demonstrable track record of business growth in a similar or larger sized business
• People-orientated leader, able to harness the culture and deliver results by motivating the best team in the industry
• Collaborative, inspirational and charismatic MD who has built, led, developed high performing senior management teams
• Highly respected within your industry, preferably with directly relevant haulage sector experience
• Track record of business growth and experience of delivering results in adversity where tough decisions had to be made
